About Us:

Centennial Pool is a landmark aquatic facility in the heart of Halifax and one of only two 50-meter pools in Nova Scotia. Known for its bright, open space and welcoming atmosphere, it’s a place where community members of all ages come to swim, train, and connect.

We offer a wide range of aquatic programs, including:

- lane swimming
- private and group adult lessons
- aquacise classes
- competitive training, serving everyone from beginners to high-performance athletes.

As part of our team, you’ll be supporting a vibrant community facility that values safety, inclusivity, and a positive experience for both staff and swimmers.

Shift Options:

We offer a variety of shifts starting as early as 5:00 a.m. and running until 10:00 p.m (varies).

While we are looking for lifeguards who can commit to regular shifts, we understand that busy school schedules can make that challenging. That’s why we also maintain a strong roster of substitute guards, so you can pick up shifts when your schedule allows.

Pay & Perks

Pay: $18.00/hour (including 4% vacation pay, paid biweekly)

Your Role:

As a Centennial Pool Lifeguard, you will:

- Ensure the safety of swimmers through active and engaged supervision
- Maintain a clean and safe pool environment, following all public health standards
- Respond effectively to both minor and major incidents
- Represent Centennial Pool as a friendly, helpful, and professional team member

What You Need:

- Current National Lifeguard (NL), Standard First Aid, and CPR-C
- AED/Oxygen certification (asset)
- Swim for Life Instructor certification (asset)
- Additional instructor certifications (asset)
- Availability for early mornings, evenings, or weekends (asset)
