About the Role

We are launching a 6,000 sq. ft. Asian dining concept in Downtown Vancouver featuring:

- Signature Malatang program
- Japanese-style Yakitori
- Beverage & dessert bar (coffee, milk tea, trending desserts)

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on General Manager to lead pre-opening preparations and oversee full restaurant operations.

This role requires solid local industry knowledge and the ability to manage a high-volume, multi-department operation.

Responsibilities

Pre-Opening

- Participate in operational planning and workflow setup
- Assist with hiring and onboarding
- Establish FOH & BOH SOPs
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers
- Prepare for licensing and inspections

Operations

- Oversee daily restaurant operations
- Manage scheduling and labor costs
- Ensure service quality and guest satisfaction
- Supervise kitchen, yakitori, and beverage departments
- Handle customer issues professionally

Financial Management





- Monitor food cost and labor percentage
- Manage purchasing and inventory
- Analyze weekly sales and performance reports

Qualifications

- 5 years restaurant management experience in Vancouver
- Experience managing high-volume restaurants
- Strong knowledge of North American service standards
- Experience with Asian or Chinese/Japanese/Korean concepts preferred
- Fluent English communication skills
- Strong understanding of P&L; and cost control
- Experience participating in a restaurant opening preferred
