About NeedHelp Platform NeedHelp Platform is a Canadian platform that connects community organizations with the businesses and people who want to help them. Food banks, shelters, daycares, newcomer agencies and other community groups post their real needs for free. Businesses and supporters step in, and every contribution is recognized. We're an early-stage Canadian startup, and this is a chance to help shape how a new platform grows across the country. About the placement We're looking for a student who wants hands-on experience in community outreach, partnerships and social impact. You'll be the first point of contact for organizations and businesses across Canada, helping them discover NeedHelp and get involved. This is an unpaid placement offered for academic credit only. You must be enrolled in a Canadian college or university program that includes a placement, practicum, co-op or internship for credit, and your school must approve the placement.
What you'll do
• Research and contact community organizations across Canada (food banks, shelters, daycares, newcomer and family services) by email, LinkedIn and phone
• Help organizations post their needs on NeedHelp Platform
• Reach out to businesses about becoming NeedHelp Supporters
• Support current campaigns, such as Diapers for Daycares
• Keep an outreach tracker up to date and report on results
• Join weekly check-ins with the team on Microsoft Teams What you'll gain

• A reference and documented work for your portfolio
• Mentorship from the founding team of a Canadian startup
• Support with your school's placement paperwork and evaluations Who we're looking for
• Currently enrolled in a Canadian college or university program with a placement or practicum for credit
• Studying public relations, communications, journalism, social work, community development, nonprofit management, business, marketing or a related field
• Clear, friendly written and spoken English (French is an asset)
• Comfortable contacting people by email and phone
• Organized and self-motivated, able to work remotely
