What You’ll Do

Installation & Commissioning

- Install custom aluminum driveway gates, fencing systems, rails, posts, hinges, and hardware
- Set up and program automated gate systems (swing, slide, cantilever, keypad entry, safety devices, etc.)
- Complete conduit runs, low-voltage wiring, and control panel connections
- Conduct final system testing and commissioning to ensure smooth, reliable operation

Field Technical & Troubleshooting Work

- Diagnose and repair automation issues, motors, sensors, and control systems
- Perform maintenance and warranty repairs
- Recommend system improvements or upgrades based on site conditions

Site Leadership & Coordination





- Interpret site plans, drawings, elevations, and wiring diagrams
- Confirm measurements and layout prior to installation
- Use concrete tools, and hand/power tools
- Coordinate and interact with homeowners, contractors, and commercial clients

Quality & Safety

- Ensure all installations meet company standards for craftsmanship and performance
- Maintain clean, organized, and compliant job sites
- Follow WorkSafeBC regulations
- Conduct quality assurance on installed systems
- Complete installation documentation and service reports

Leadership & Team Development

- Lead small crews on job sites
- Delegate tasks based on skill level and project requirements
- Provide feedback to Production and Customer Service teams on design or fit improvements

What You Bring

- 1-5+ years of experience in gate installation, automation, construction, electrical, or mechanical trades ( or a combination of equivalent training and experience)
- Strong experience with automated gate systems and low-voltage wiring
- Ability to read technical drawings and wiring diagrams
- Experience leading crews or mentoring apprentices
- Comfort working with concrete, alignment, drilling, and precision assembly
- Valid BC Class 5 driver’s licence with clean record




- Ability and willingness to travel to the USA for training
- Certifications such as lift training, fall protection, or electrical endorsements (assets)

What the Role Looks Like

- Field-based role with daily travel across Vancouver Island
- Outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Physical tasks including lifting, digging, equipment operation, and technical installation
- Exposure to automation systems, electrical components, and construction environments
- Occasional overtime during peak installation seasons
