Faculty/Department Student Affairs -Operations Unit SA - Housing Services Facilities Employee Group CUPE 5791 CUPE 5791 Job Family Facility Services Category Student Number of Vacancies Multiple Position Summary

Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Housing Facilities, the primary purpose of this position is to provide housekeeping services within campus housing. This position will assist the housekeeping team in maintaining a high standard of service for all on-campus accommodations.

This includes:

- Setting up rooms for hotel/conference accommodations and laundering linens to support conference operations;
- Conducting room inspections;
- Reporting on conditions impacting the security, safety, and maintenance of residence facilities;
- Providing a variety of housekeeping and cleaning duties on a regular basis to ensure the health and safety of students and guests;
- Assisting with health and safety inspections;
- Moving and lifting furniture and/or equipment;
- Operating both manual and power operated equipment such as vacuums, extractors, auto-scrubbers, steamers and buffers.

Position Requirements

- Grade 12 or suitable combination of education and experience;
- Previous housekeeping experience is preferred;
- Must have well developed communication skills (oral and written);
- Demonstrated ability to deal tactfully and courteously with residents, guests, staff and general public;
- Ability to solve problems;
- Experience with diverse groups;




- Knowledge of materials and cleaning supplies used in the industry and procedures used in performing duties including knowledge of WHMIS;
- Good physical health and strength is required to lift and move moderate to heavy furniture and equipment;
- Ability to operate manual and power operated equipment;
- Preference given to students;
- Must be able to work flexible schedule which can include evenings, holidays, and weekends.

Physical Demands Pay Grade CUPE Phase 1 Salary Range $16.30 per hour Status Casual Work Hours

Work hours vary depending on business needs.
