Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant to support our ECE teachers within our daycare. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about early childhood education, working with children, and making a positive impact on young learners. The Assistant will collaborate closely with teachers and caregivers to foster a safe, engaging, and nurturing space for children with diverse needs, including those with disabilities. Prior classroom experience and a background in caregiving or teaching are highly valued.

Responsibilities

- Support lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans and educational activities tailored to early childhood development.
- Assist in supervising children during classroom activities, playtime, and outings to ensure safety and engagement.
- Provide individualized care and support for children with disabilities or special needs, promoting inclusion and participation.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages learning and creativity.
- Assist with preparing materials, setting up learning stations, and managing classroom supplies.
- Foster positive interactions with children, encouraging social skills, independence, and emotional development.




- Communicate effectively with parents and team members regarding children's progress and needs.

Skills

- Prior classroom experience or experience working with children is preferred.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is a plus.
- Strong caregiving skills combined with patience, empathy, and a nurturing attitude.
- Ability to effectively teach, supervise, and support young children in a variety of settings.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and engage positively with children and families. - Must have ECE-A certification in BC

Pay: $17.85-$27.00 per hour
