Position Overview

- The accountant will organize and control the day to day and periodic aspects of the finance and administration functions of the business. Mentor and Guide AP/AR_

Essential Job Functions

1. Control the basic daily accounting functions of the business including:

- Record cash transactions and journal entries into the system daily
- Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, and administration functions (2 staff members)
- Ensure all daily transactions are correctly recorded into the accounting systems

1. Ensure all periodic government, association, and stakeholder filings are done in a timely basis including:

- Elevator - Annual license renewals
- Payroll - lead the bi-weekly recording and processing of payroll
- Corporate taxes - file HST returns monthly and quarterly as required. Support auditors with corporation tax filings annually if needed.

1. Process and authorize (Joint signatory) all bank payments, reconcile bank accounts daily.

2. Key contact for the external auditors, prepare and provide files for the annual audits

3. Prepare ad-hoc,



monthly and annual reporting packs as required, including

- Farming - seeding and harvest report (daily during season)
- Monthly financial reporting pack
- Annual reporting pack and consolidation
- Budgets & Forecasts
- Cash flow reporting

Work Location

- The Finance and Administration team is based at our Uno Park location in New Liskeard_

Other Skills/Abilities

- Strong communication skills - English & French would be considered an asset.
- Solid abilities in computer software including Powerpoint and Excel.
- Previous use of Simply Accounting software package
- Willingness to work irregular hours during busy periods as needed

Pay: $105,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
