We are currently seeking an organized, motivated, and customer-focused City Dispatcher to join our Edmonton operations team.

About the Role

As a City Dispatcher, you will play a key role in coordinating daily pickup and delivery operations while ensuring our customers receive exceptional service. You will work closely with drivers, warehouse staff, customer service representatives, and management to maximize efficiency and maintain on-time performance. This is a temporary 18 month contract with possibility to become permanent.

Responsibilities

- Dispatch local pickup and delivery drivers throughout the day.
- Monitor driver progress and adjust routes as operational needs change.
- Coordinate customer pickups and ensure service commitments are met.
- Communicate with drivers using dispatch software, phone, and messaging systems.
- Work with warehouse personnel to prioritize freight movement.
- Resolve service issues and provide timely updates to customers and internal departments.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and transportation regulations.
- Maintain accurate dispatch records and documentation.
- Assist with planning daily routes to maximize productivity and equipment utilization.
- Support the operations team with additional duties as required.

Qualifications





- Previous dispatch or transportation industry experience is preferred.
- Experience in the LTL freight industry is considered a strong asset.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions under pressure.
- Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail.
- Customer-focused with a positive and professional attitude.

- Full time
- Monday to Friday
- Occasional overtime as required to support operational needs
