BMR Pro is currently seeking a proactive and results-driven Purchaser to manage the purchasing of building supplies and lumber products for our retail store & yard. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of the building materials industry and supply chain processes, ensuring that we always have the right products available to meet customer demand. This role involves managing supplier relationships, inventory forecasting, and negotiating the best pricing and terms for BMR Pro.

Position Details

Procurement & Inventory Management:

- Source, purchase, and manage inventory for a wide range of building materials, lumber, and related products.
- Monitor inventory levels, anticipate demand, and ensure timely replenishment to meet customer needs.
- Collaborate with store managers and sales teams to identify inventory gaps and ensure product availability

Supplier Relations & Negotiation:

- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and establish new supplier partnerships.
- Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms to secure the best deals and maximize cost savings.
- Continuously evaluate supplier performance and explore opportunities for better pricing, improved product offerings, and enhanced customer satisfaction.

Market & Demand Analysis:

- Analyze sales trends, seasonal demand, and market conditions to inform purchasing decisions.
- Work closely with the sales team to forecast demand and ensure alignment with customer preferences.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, new products,



and emerging market opportunities.

Product Assortment & Quality Control:

- Assist in the selection and curation of the product assortment to meet market demands and customer preferences.
- Ensure all products meet BMR Pro’s quality standards and comply with safety and regulatory requirements.
- Implement product rotation strategies and manage stock turnover to minimize obsolescence.

Cost Control & Budget Management:

- Manage the purchasing budget and control costs to maximize profitability.
- Identify opportunities for cost reductions through bulk buying, supplier negotiations, or alternative product sourcing.
- Ensure that inventory levels are optimized to prevent overstocking or understocking.

Customer & Sales Support:

- Provide product recommendations and support to the sales team to help drive sales.
- Address any product-related customer feedback or concerns promptly and professionally.
- Ensure that the products ordered align with customer requirements, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a Buyer or Purchasing Agent in the building materials, construction, or retail industry.
- In-depth knowledge of building supplies, lumber products, and industry-specific trends.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to analyze sales data, market trends, and customer feedback to make informed decisions.




- Proficiency in inventory management systems (ERP) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- A degree or certification in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
