Benchmark Architectural Woodworking Inc. is an established commercial architectural millwork manufacturer located in Burnaby, BC. Since 1997, we have specialized in manufacturing and installing high-quality custom millwork for commercial, institutional, healthcare, educational, and office environments.

Our work includes custom cabinetry, reception desks, architectural wall paneling, solid surface countertops, specialty casework, and other custom architectural woodwork.

We are looking for an experienced Architectural Millwork Estimator to join our estimating department.

Previous professional experience estimating cabinetry or architectural millwork is mandatory. We are looking for someone who already understands cabinet construction, millwork materials, manufacturing processes, and how to accurately estimate these products.

Key Responsibilities

- Review architectural drawings, elevations, details, specifications, and tender packages to identify complete millwork scope.
- Perform accurate quantity takeoffs for cabinetry, casework, wall paneling, countertops, and specialty architectural millwork.
- Prepare detailed estimates for materials, hardware, shop fabrication labour, installation labour, and subcontracted work.
- Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Identify drawing discrepancies, missing information, and scope conflicts; prepare RFIs and clarifications as required.
- Prepare complete quotations, including exclusions, qualifications, alternates, and value-engineering options.
- Manage multiple estimating opportunities while meeting tender deadlines.
- Proactively follow up with general contractors to obtain bid feedback, identify opportunities, and build long-term customer relationships.
- Maintain accurate project information, estimating records, and follow-up activities within our ERP system.
- Coordinate with project managers and production staff to ensure complete and accurate project handoffs.

Mandatory Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience specifically estimating cabinetry, commercial casework, or architectural millwork.




- Demonstrated ability to independently complete cabinetry or millwork takeoffs and prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Strong understanding of cabinet construction, manufacturing methods, materials, hardware, and finishes.
- Experience calculating material quantities, shop fabrication labour, and installation labour.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, elevations, sections, details, and specifications.
- Experience preparing quotations and obtaining supplier pricing.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to estimating accuracy.
- Strong computer skills and experience using estimating or takeoff software.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills for working with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and work independently within established deadlines.

Important: This position requires previous hands-on experience estimating cabinetry or architectural millwork. Experience estimating unrelated construction trades alone does not meet the requirements of this position.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience estimating commercial or institutional architectural millwork projects.
- Knowledge of AWMAC standards and millwork specifications.
- Previous cabinetmaking, millwork drafting, or shop production experience.
- Familiarity with Cabinet Vision, Mozaik, Innergy, or similar estimating/manufacturing software.
- Experience working with commercial general contractors and competitive tender submissions.
- Knowledge of architectural veneers, plastic laminates, solid surface materials, specialty hardware, and custom fabrication.

Work Location & Schedule Location:0 4-5850 Byrne Road, Burnaby, BC

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM

Work Arrangement: Full time, in-office. This is not a remote position.

Applicants must be able to reliably commute to our Burnaby facility and consistently meet the required start time.
