Assistant Produce Manager — Quality Greens

We’re a locally owned and operated market that supports local growers and vendors. We’re looking for a hands-on Assistant Produce Manager who takes pride in the details—from accurate ordering and careful quality checks to full, attractive displays.

What You’ll Do

Working alongside the Produce Manager, you’ll help lead the team and keep the department looking and performing its best.

- Order with care: Plan daily orders around sales, seasonality, promotions, and stock levels to maintain availability while minimizing waste.
- Create displays that sell: Build fresh, inviting displays, feature seasonal and local products, and use cross-merchandising to inspire purchases.
- Keep quality high: Check deliveries and displays for freshness, rotate stock, remove substandard products, and coordinate supplier credits or returns.
- Get the details right: Maintain accurate pricing and signage, monitor product movement, and complete monthly inventory counts.
- Support the team: Train and coach staff, communicate daily priorities, and provide friendly, knowledgeable customer service.
- Maintain department standards: Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe, and follow food safety and loss prevention procedures.

What You Bring

- Previous produce experience and at least one year of management or supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of produce ordering, merchandising, rotation, and quality control.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
- A positive,



dependable approach to teamwork and customer service.
- Confidence using ordering systems, POS software, and basic spreadsheets.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Availability for mornings, afternoons, and at least one weekend day.
