Improve Java performance through C++ optimization and code generation with Azul’s Falcon JIT compiler, working remotely or from Prague, Limassol, or Belgrade.

As a Compiler Performance Engineer, you will optimize Falcon, the LLVM-based JIT compiler in Azul Platform Prime. Analyze benchmarks and customer workloads to find generated-code gaps and root causes. Apply compiler optimization theory across Falcon’s middle and back ends.

Key Responsibilities: Analyze Java benchmarks and customer workloads

Trace generated-code gaps to compiler root causes

Implement inlining, loop, vectorization, and redundancy optimizations

Improve x86_64 and AArch64 code generation

Write regression-protecting tests and benchmarks

Requirements: Two-plus years in compilers or low-level performance engineering

Solid C++ design and coding skills

Understanding of SSA, data flow, and loop transformations

Ability to read assembly and compare instruction sequences

LLVM, profiler, JVM, or microarchitecture experience is beneficial
