We are a busy cafe on Kingston Rd in Pickering, Ontario (near Whites Rd), and we are looking for an experienced Manager to lead our location. You will run day-to-day operations, lead and develop the team, and make sure every guest gets great food, great coffee and friendly service. This role is for someone who has already managed or assistant-managed a food service business.
What you will do
- Oversee daily cafe operations, including opening and closing
- Hire, train, schedule and supervise staff, and lead by example on the floor during busy periods
- Maintain high standards for food quality, drink quality and customer service
- Manage inventory, ordering and supplier deliveries, and help control food and labour costs
- Make sure food safety, health and cleanliness standards are followed at all times
- Handle guest concerns and resolve issues professionally
- Handle cash, daily sales reports and other administrative tasks
What we are looking for
- Previous experience as a Manager or Assistant Manager at a restaurant, cafe or other food service business (required)
- Availability to work weekends and evenings (required)
- Reliable transportation and the ability to commute to the cafe for every scheduled shift (required)
- Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to stay organized and calm in a fast-paced environment
- Food Handler Certificate is an asset
