Music Teacher – Piano, Voice, Guitar & Other Instruments

Part-Time | 9-Month Contract

Pay: $21.00–$28.00 per hour, based on experience

Hours: 8–15+ per week, with opportunities for growth

About the Position:

The Melody Lab is seeking passionate, engaging, and dependable Music Teachers to join our growing studio!

We welcome instructors specializing in piano, voice, guitar, bass, cello, songwriting, and music theory. Experience teaching group lessons and multiple instruments is an asset.

We are looking for creative educators who enjoy working with children, youth, and adults at beginner, intermediate, or advanced levels. Our goal is to make music education fun, personalized, and confidence building while helping students develop strong musical foundations.

Responsibilities:

- Deliver engaging private music lessons tailored to individual skill levels and learning styles.
- Teach instrumental or vocal technique, music theory, rhythm, ear training, and performance skills.
- Develop lesson plans that balance creativity, structure, and musical development.
- Monitor student progress and communicate with parents or guardians when appropriate.
- Prepare students for recitals, examinations, and personal musical goals.
- Maintain a positive, professional, and encouraging teaching environment.
- Collaborate with studio leadership to support student engagement and retention.

Qualifications:

- Proficiency in at least one instrument or musical specialization.




- Previous music teaching experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of music theory and instructional techniques.
- Experience teaching children and beginner-level students is an asset.
- Excellent communication, patience, reliability, and organizational skills.
- Music education, performance, or equivalent practical experience preferred.
- Familiarity with RCM curriculum or examinations is an asset.
