Overview

We are seeking a friendly, dependable Sandwich Artist/Cashier to prepare made-to-order food and provide welcoming, effective service. This hands-on cafe role combines food preparation, cashiering, and maintaining a clean, safe work area. Food service or restaurant experience is helpful, but a strong customer-service mindset and willingness to learn are also valued.

Responsibilities

- Greet customers, answer questions, take orders, and provide attentive customer service.
- Prepare sandwiches and other menu items according to recipes, customer requests, and food-safety procedures.
- Operate the POS system to enter orders and process transactions; experience with Micros POS is a plus.
- Handle cash and other payment methods accurately, provide receipts, and maintain an orderly register area.
- Use basic math to process transactions, verify orders, and assist with routine register tasks.
- Offer relevant menu suggestions and practice appropriate upselling while keeping the customer’s needs in mind.
- Follow food-handling, sanitation, and food-safety standards, including proper cleaning and storage practices.




- Keep the kitchen, service counter, equipment, and dining areas clean and organized.
- Coordinate with team members to prepare orders accurately and keep service moving during busy periods.
- Manage time effectively while balancing customer service, food preparation, and cleaning duties.

Qualifications

- Strong communication and customer-service skills, with a courteous and team-oriented approach.
- Ability to learn food preparation, food handling, sanitation, and food-safety procedures.
- Comfort using a POS system; Micros POS experience is a plus.
- Basic math skills and the ability to handle cash and transactions accurately.
- Good time-management and organizational skills, including the ability to work efficiently during busy periods.
- Food service, serving, cashiering, kitchen, restaurant, or broader food-industry experience is helpful but not required.

Pay: From $18.50 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
