Introduction

RS Recruitment & Training is assisting a long‑established procurement and distribution organisation to recruit a SENIOR INTERNAL AUDITOR, to be based at their operations in Durban. Remuneration: R18 000 – R25 000 per month.

Duties & Responsibilities

Duties & Responsibilities – but not limited to:

Internal Audit Planning

- Lead planning meetings and scope discussions.
- Set deadlines for reporting and audit completion.
- Review planned audits and prepare audit plans for assigned scopes.

Audit Supervision

- Review audit workpapers and findings on TeamMate.
- Sign off as Reviewer within agreed timelines.
- Ensure management comments are obtained and documented.
- Ensure executive summaries are accurate and complete.
- Address recurring findings and ensure review queries are resolved.
- Maintain a track record of audit activities.

Field Work

- Ensure fieldwork is conducted within required timeframes.
- Report deviations or non‑compliance.
- Archive original supporting documentation.
- Ensure audit evidence is securely maintained and uploaded to TeamMate.

Reporting

- Review and sign off audit findings.
- Identify root causes of recurring findings and engage with management.
- Capture current findings arising from emerging risks.
- Complete executive and detailed reports accurately.




- Update monthly audit tracking sheets (IA wins).
- Submit final reports within 10 days after site work is completed.
- Ensure reports are saved under the reporting tab on TeamMate.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Job Purpose The Senior Internal Auditor will lead audit planning, supervise audit execution, review workpapers, prepare executive reports, and ensure compliance with audit methodology. The successful candidate will drive audit quality, address recurring findings, and engage with management to strengthen internal controls.

Applicants Should Have/Be the Following:

- Degree in Internal Audit, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 4+ years internal audit experience.
- Solid experience with TeamMate or similar audit software.
- Proven ability to lead audit scopes and supervise junior auditors.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision.
- High levels of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- Willingness to travel occasionally and work overtime during stock counts.

Package & Remuneration

Remuneration

R18 000 – R25 000 per month.
