Lead aquatic safety and staff mentoring as a Senior Lifeguard with the City of Grande Prairie in Alberta. Support protected, efficient operations. This permanent full-time Senior Lifeguard works within the Recreation Department.

The position combines lifeguarding, aquatic program instruction, staff mentoring, rescues, first aid, and established safety procedures. You will support Aquatics staff through recertification, orientation, guidance, and motivation while addressing potential issues proactively.

Key Responsibilities: Lifeguard and maintain patron safety and well-being Instruct aquatic programs and provide education Perform rescues and first aid as needed Mentor, recertify, guide, and motivate staff Act as Crew Chief when required Requirements: Current LSI, LI, NL, FA, or equivalent Advanced training such as NLI, LIT, IFAI, or Pool Operator Leadership experience and effective communication skills Ability to respond to emergencies and deescalate situations Availability for shift work, evenings, and weekends Apply leadership, aquatic training, emergency response, and communication skills as a Senior Lifeguard supporting Grande Prairie’s aquatic team.
