As a Material Handling Engineer in WSP’s Resources subsector, you will provide technical leadership across mining, metals, and industrial infrastructure projects. The work includes translating operational requirements into engineered solutions, integrating designs with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting project delivery. You will also mentor intermediate and junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

Design conveyors, cranes, hoists, and automated storage systems

Develop layouts, technical specifications, calculations, and drawings

Integrate material handling solutions into facility designs

Evaluate systems and recommend efficiency,



safety, and reliability improvements

Participate in inspections, site visits, and commissioning activities

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline

At least 15 years designing material handling systems

Experience with mining and heavy industrial projects

Skilled Engineer designation or eligibility in Canada

Working proficiency with mechanical design and modeling tools
