Dominion Family Dentistry — Truro, Nova Scotia
Full-time | Four-day work week | No evenings | No weekends

Dominion Family Dentistry is looking for an exceptional Dental Administrator / Patient & Financial Coordinator to join our front-office team.

Depending on the strengths and experience of the candidates we meet, we may hire more than one person as we build the next generation of our front-office team.

We are particularly interested in candidates with strengths in dental administration, Dentrix, insurance, financial coordination, patient scheduling and patient communication.

Experienced Registered Dental Assistants who enjoy the administrative and patient-coordination side of dentistry are also encouraged to apply.

The most important qualification isn't necessarily on your resume

Technical experience is important.

But one of the most important things we consider when hiring is how someone works with other people.

Dominion Family Dentistry is a genuine team environment.

Everyone has primary responsibilities, but nobody works inside a box.

If another team member is busy, we help.

If the phone rings, we answer it.

If a schedule needs attention, we work on it together.

If a coworker is overloaded, we don't stand back because the problem technically belongs to someone else's job description.

No position is more important than another.

We value people who are respectful, dependable, collaborative and willing to contribute wherever appropriate to help the team and our patients.

About the position

This role combines patient service, scheduling, insurance processing and financial coordination.

You will work closely with another front-office team member to help manage our patients and schedules while also taking significant responsibility for the financial and insurance side of the practice.

The successful candidate will combine excellent communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.

- Allocate each payment accurately to the correct patient ledger in Dentrix
- Recognize partial payments and discrepancies
- Investigate unexplained amounts
- Follow unresolved items through to completion
- Ensure payments reconcile correctly

Accuracy matters more than simply processing transactions quickly.

We are looking for someone who notices when something doesn't make sense and takes the time to understand why.

If unexplained discrepancies bother you until they are resolved,

that is a strength in this position.
