CoTrain is hiring on behalf of Cloud Nine, a neurodivergent clothing brand launching a community app to go with it — a place where people can talk to others who understand what they’re dealing with, without having to explain themselves first or perform being fine. This isn’t a shopping app; it’s a community app. CoTrain is a vetted marketplace that connects companies with elite, pre-screened talent, so you go straight to real work.
You’d be the first community hire — setting up how all of this works, not inheriting someone else’s system. The online side is fully remote. For the in-person side, we’re based in Vancouver and want our events here, so you’d need to be in the Vancouver area and able to be there in person 1–2 times a month. This starts part-time at around 3 hours a day, with a clear path to full time (6–8 hours a day) and a pay increase as the community grows.
What you’ll own
- Show up every day — welcome new members by name, reply to posts, start conversations, moderate, and keep channels organized so nobody posts and gets ignored
- Remember people — follow up on the job interview, the dog, the appointment they were nervous about; that’s what turns a feed into a community
- Run the week-to-week programming: challenges, prompts, recurring threads, polls, product voting, giveaways, and the monthly free hoodie
- Find and book therapists, OTs, and ADHD coaches for Q&As; and interviews — outreach, booking, and getting it filmed or run live
- Own push notifications, onboarding, and re-engagement — segmented so members, customers, and creators aren’t all getting the same message
- Run the in-person side in Vancouver — find local neurodivergent-friendly events, get Cloud Nine attached, show up to help run them, and bring photos and moments back to the content team, building toward Cloud Nine running its own events here
- Read the room — track engagement and retention, spot future ambassadors and UGC creators, and pull product and customer feedback through to the team
- Build the systems — community guidelines, moderation, and clear escalation, handled with real care for the space
Who you are
- Based in the Vancouver area and able to attend in-person events 1–2 times a month
- You’re neurodivergent yourself, or you’ve spent enough time in these spaces that people trust you in them
- You’ve run a community before — Discord, Facebook, Reddit, Slack, a forum, a group chat that got out of hand — and can tell us what it looked like
- You’re warm in writing; people open up to you and you know how to respond when they do
- You can email an organization you’ve never met and get a yes
- You work independently — nobody’s handing you a task list every morning, and the first few months are a lot of figuring it out
- You can sit with a hard conversation without panicking and without going cold
Bonus points
- Existing relationships with neurodivergent orgs, advocacy groups, or event organizers in the Vancouver area
- Experience running events
- Comfortable on camera
Compensation
Up to $48,000/year to start, based on experience. Part-time at around 3 hours a day, with a clear path to full-time hours (6–8 hours a day) and a pay increase as the community grows. Remote for online work, with in-person events in Vancouver 1–2 times a month.
How to apply
Apply through CoTrain, not by email — open the listing on CoTrain, sign in or create your expert profile if you’re new, and tell us about a community you’ve run and why this one matters to you. You’ll also take a short 8-minute interview as part of your application. From there you’ll get vetted and matched through the platform, and we’ll reach out to you on CoTrain.
PS: We review applications daily — make sure you complete your 8-minute interview to be considered.
