We are looking for an experienced Patternmaker to join our fashion wholesale team in Montreal’s Chabanel district. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge of garment construction, fit, grading, and production, with hands-on experience using PAD System patternmaking software. This company has a very well know brand that is found in retailers all across north america.
Responsibilities
- Create and modify digital patterns using PAD System
- Develop first patterns from sketches, specifications, existing garments, and samples
- Adjust patterns based on fittings and designer/customer comments
- Ensure proper garment fit, balance, construction, and measurements
- Grade patterns into required size ranges
- Prepare production-ready patterns and markers
- Work closely with designers, sample makers, production, and overseas manufacturers
- Review samples and identify fit or construction issues
- Make pattern corrections throughout the sampling and production process
- Maintain accurate pattern files, specifications, and style information
- Ensure patterns meet company quality and production standards
- Assist in resolving technical issues related to garment construction and manufacturing
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Patternmaker in the fashion/apparel industry
- Robust experience with PAD System is required
- Excellent understanding of garment construction, measurements, grading, and fit
- Experience working with women’s apparel and/or fashion wholesale is an asset
- Ability to interpret technical sketches and garment specifications
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple styles simultaneously
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Experience working with overseas factories is an asset
