The Residential Light Duty Cleaner is responsible for cleaning, sanitizing, and preparing vacation rental homes, suites, cabins, and short-term rental properties for guest arrivals. This position plays an important role in ensuring each property is clean, safe, well-presented, and guest-ready according to company standards. The role requires travel between multiple residential properties and may involve working independently or as part of a small team. The successful candidate must be reliable, detail-oriented, physically capable of performing cleaning duties, and comfortable following checklists, schedules, health and safety procedures, and guest turnover timelines.

Responsibilities

- Clean and sanitize vacation rental properties, including bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, living areas, entryways, laundry areas, decks, and other assigned spaces.
- Dust, vacuum, sweep, mop, and spot-clean floors, furniture, surfaces, fixtures, appliances, mirrors, windows, and high-touch areas.
- Clean and disinfect bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, showers, tubs, counters, mirrors, and floors.
- Clean kitchen areas, including counters, sinks, stovetops, microwaves, refrigerators, small appliances, dishes, cabinets, and garbage/recycling areas.
- Change bed linens, make beds, restock towels, replenish guest supplies, and stage properties according to company standards.
- Remove garbage and recycling and ensure waste is disposed of according to local requirements.
- Complete laundry duties as required, including washing, drying, folding, sorting, and transporting linens and towels.
- Inspect properties during cleaning for damage, missing items, maintenance concerns, safety hazards, pest concerns, or unusual conditions and report issues promptly.
- Follow turnover checklists, cleaning schedules, property-specific instructions, and quality standards.
- Take or submit completion photos, inspection notes, or cleaning reports when required.
- Maintain cleaning supplies, equipment,



and inventory; notify the supervisor when supplies are low or equipment requires repair.
- Safely use cleaning products, disinfectants, tools, and equipment in accordance with workplace procedures and product instructions.
- Travel between assigned properties and arrive on time for scheduled cleaning assignments.
- Provide courteous and professional communication with supervisors, coworkers, guests, owners, vendors, and property contacts when required.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect for guest, owner, and property information.

Requirements

- Previous residential, commercial, hotel, housekeeping, or vacation rental cleaning experience is an asset.
- Ability to work independently, follow detailed instructions, and meet cleaning deadlines.
- Solid attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness, sanitation, and presentation standard, with ability to manage multi-property assignments.
- Ability to communicate professionally by phone, text, email, or scheduling app as required.
- Basic knowledge of safe cleaning practices, disinfectants, and proper handling of cleaning supplies; WHMIS training is an asset and may be provided.
- Valid BC driver’s license and reliable vehicle required.
- This role involves light duty cleaning work; however, candidates must be able to safely perform the regular physical demands of the position, including:
- Standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, kneeling, and repetitive movements.
- Lifting and carrying cleaning supplies, laundry, garbage, and equipment, typically up to 25 lbs.
- Climbing stairs and moving between indoor and outdoor areas.
- Working with cleaning products, disinfectants, laundry products, dust, pet hair, and other common household allergens.
- Working within scheduled turnover windows and occasionally in changing weather conditions when travelling between properties.

Pay: $27.00-$29.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week
