Position Overview

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the Senior Purchasing Agent is responsible for executing all day-to-day senior-level purchasing activities, handling more complex tasks and supports strategic decision-making in conjunction with the Purchasing Manager. This may include but is not limited to ensuring accurate and timely processing of purchase orders while managing vendor relations, inventory levels, pricing negotiations and forecasting market trends. Standard hours are 8:00am – 4:30pm, Monday to Friday. Successful candidate will be located in or near Langley, BC.

Duties And Responsibilities

- Manage the purchasing process including the buying, selling and distributions aspects of the company
- Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies
- Manage incoming logistics
- Review and approve invoices for incoming shipments from various freight partners
- Review new project proposals for the company
- Communicate with the marketing and sales team to affect working strategies
- Track and report existing purchasing processes to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness and efficiency




- Maintain valuable relations with reliable vendors and suppliers
- Assist with contract negotiations with vendors and suppliers
- Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking
- Assist with annual R&D; of new products and ensure on-time sample delivery process
- Oversee the addition and maintenance of SKU’s within the ERP system, including price levels and discounts
- Manage the Open-To-Buy (OTB) Calendar for all brands to ensure on-time delivery of product
- Assist with reporting of Sold Out and Oversold inventory to Customer Service team
- Oversee coordination with factories regarding custom requests

Required Skills & Qualifications

- University Degree in Supply Chain Management (or related field) preferred or SCMP / APICS designation considered an asset
- Proven working experience as Purchasing Agent, minimum 2 years
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel & Outlook)
- Clear and effective communication with suppliers, team members, and other departments
- Ensure accuracy in purchase orders, contracts, and inventory levels
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, cost management, and financial reporting
- Ability to analyze data, forecast needs, and evaluate supplier performance
- Ability to resolve supply chain issues or procurement-related problems
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Strong understanding of the market conditions and trends
- Positive and professional demeanor




- Strong problem-solving ability and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain a high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible to travel and work long hours as necessary
