Robert Half seeking an interim Senior Accountant for a Scarborough client with strong distribution industry experience to help stabilize and strengthen the accounting function. This is a hands-on role for a tech-savvy accounting professional who can work effectively in a legacy systems environment, bring financial reporting up to date, and support ongoing process improvements. This role is 5 days onsite.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Bring financial reporting and analysis current and improve reporting accuracy and timeliness
- Assess gaps in the ERP system and drive practical improvements
- Establish a reliable reporting cadence for leadership and lenders
- Extract and analyze data from legacy systems to support accounting and reporting needs
- Provide solid support across controllership, accounting operations, and financial analysis
- Assist with process improvements and strengthen overall accounting discipline

• At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience in a senior-level role.

• Demonstrated expertise in account reconciliations, including balance sheet and bank reconciliations.

• Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting and journal entry preparation.

• Proven experience supporting month-end close processes in a fast-paced environment.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for analysis, reconciliation, and reporting.





• Hands-on experience with at least one major ERP platform such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP.

• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
