The Role:MDA Space IT organization is seeking a highly experienced Hybrid Infrastructure Solutions Architect to define, design, and govern secure, resilient, and high‑performance hybrid infrastructure platforms supporting MDA operations.
In this role, you will act as a senior technical authority responsible for architecting solutions that span on‑premises datacenters and approved public/private cloud platforms. You will work closely with engineering, cybersecurity, operations, and program teams to ensure infrastructure designs meet regulatory, security, and availability requirements while enabling modernization and long‑term scalability.
This role is critical to ensuring MDA Space can safely evolve its infrastructure capabilities while protecting sensitive data, maintaining operational continuity,



and supporting long‑lifecycle MDA programs.

Responsibilities:
Define enterprise-wide hybrid cloud strategy and reference architecturesDrive standardization and architectural governance across global environmentsInfluence executive‑level technology decisions and investment planningChair architecture governance boards and review committeesDesign and maintain end‑to‑end hybrid infrastructure architectures (on‑prem, private cloud, public cloud)Establish standards for compute, storage, and networking that apply consistently across cloud and on‑prem footprintsDrive automation of provisioning, configuration, patching, and lifecycle managementDefine and enforce policies for cost management, tagging, access control, and complianceLead predictive capacity planning using telemetry and forecasting modelsDefine operational readiness standards and ensure designs are supportable and automatable Partner with business stakeholders to align infrastructure roadmap with company objectivesEvaluate and recommend emerging technologies, tools, and vendorsEmbed Zero Trust architecture principles and security‑by‑design practicesDefine Infrastructure-as-Code (Ia C) standards and integrate infrastructure delivery with CI/CD pipelinesIntegrate infrastructure with CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops workflowsDefine monitoring, logging,



and observability standards across hybrid platformsMentor senior and intermediate IT membersProvide technical leadership to engineering and operations teamsSupport budgeting and vendor strategy decisionsLead architecture reviews and design forumsInfluence cross‑functional teams and drive architectural decisions without direct authorityEnsure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.15+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering or architecture roles, with at least 5 years in a hybrid or multi-cloud environmentDeep hands‑on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP)Hands‑on experience with on‑premises infrastructure (VMware, Hyper‑V, bare metal, HCI)Hands‑on experience with Azure/AWS landing zones, governance frameworksExperience with hybrid connectivity (Express Route, Direct Connect, VPN)Hands‑on experience with automation using Power Shell, Python, TerraformExperience working in regulated environments (ITAR, Controlled Goods, GDPR, etc.)Understanding of data residency and sovereignty requirementsStrong background in networking
- SD‑WAN, DNS, load balancing, firewall policyExperience in Active Directory, Entra ID, IAM, SSO/SAML/OIDCExperience in Enterprise Storage solutionsExperience in architecting and documenting Disaster Recover and Business ContinuityIn‑depth knowledge of Microsoft and Linux operating systems and their core services.
