Our family is seeking a responsible and experienced nanny to join our team and provide attentive, loving after-school care for our 2 year old boy and 5 year old girl. We hope to find someone this September to help our family Mon-Fri with daily routines (e.g. housekeeping during naps, preparing backpacks or activities supplies, read/play outside/do activities with the kids while mom gets dinner ready). OUR HOME is located in Ambleside, West Vancouver, BC. We are a short walk to bus routes (3 blocks from Marine Drive bus stop at 15th street, 10 mins from downtown West End), parks, the West Vancouver community centre, and seawall. THE IDEAL NANNY CANDIDATE will be a dedicated, reliable and experienced caregiver or teacher with a genuine love for working with children. Your role with our family will be an integral part of our daily lives as mum returns to work, you will be the calm centre of the home when the children come home or wake up from naps tired and hungry, or full of energy and feeling wild and silly The ideal candidate will be efficient at completing housekeeping, home organization and (on rare occasions) meal preparation while he naps, and will need to be effective at helping the siblings resolve conflict (share, take turns, keep hands to self, respect space) without our involvement. Last but not least, we hope you love to play inside and outside, rain or shine ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS that we're looking for (note THESE ARE NOT REQUIRED but please let us know if you have them):
- Potty training/reinforcement experience
- Spanish speaking is a plus, as we speak Spanglish at home and seek to be a bilingual household
- Drivers license with clean record
- Experience leading any activities with toddlers/primary school children, Early Childhood Education or Montessori training
- CPR/First Aid and any other safety training THE POSITION IS PART TIME at approx 20-30hrs/week (Mon-Fri 1pm-6pm), LIVE OUT.



We are offering an hourly rate of $20-$25/hr, however are open to discussing increased compensation, altered schedule, or live-in option for the right individual. Our 2yo is with us every day and although he is out of school at 12:30pm, he naps 1-3pm, and the 5yo is in school until 3pm. Our 5yo daughter is with us half the time only Weds/Thursdays (with her biological mother half the time). Your day to day will start when the 2yo returns home from daycare to nap at 1pm. He will be taken upstairs to sleep and you will complete housekeeping/organizing until our daughter comes home from school or he wakes up (usually around 3-4pm). Housekeeping will generally includes basic chores like dishes, laundry and other home organization (set up and clean up of toys, art supplies, clothes, coats and backpacks, swim bags and activities supplies, etc). From about 3 or 4pm until 6 or 7pm, they will need attentive care while parents arrive home from work and start getting dinner ready. You can play inside or go out to the garden or the park, read books, do art or any other activity you like, help them set table for dinner, etc. There are some days where we have a scheduled activity (e.g. swimming) where you'd help get them ready and walk them to the community center a few blocks away. For this job, cooking/meal prep isn't necessary
- we love to cook and feed our children healthy meals, so usually we're prepared...you just have to help keep them hydrated and support mom/dad in the kitchen Dinner is usually around 6pm, which is a natural time to end the nanny's day.
