Apply surgical assessment and patient-care expertise as a Registered Practical Nurse supporting immediate pre-operative and post-operative care. Work at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.

This experienced RPN prepares patients for various surgeries and supports recovery through assessment, instruction, discharge, and health teaching. The position requires current surgical experience, clinical judgment, organization, and adaptability in stressful settings. You will work closely with the RN and other care providers while supporting Person-Centred Care.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assess patients physically and psychologically before and after surgery
- Provide instruction and preparation for various surgical procedures
- Support mobilization, transfers, and ambulation




- Teach recovery and pain management after surgery
- Complete discharge-related care for same-day patients

Requirements:

- Current Ontario College of Nurses registration
- Mandatory RPN diploma and current BCLS certification
- One to two years of recent surgical experience
- Venipuncture IV certification and phlebotomy skills
- Physical Assessment and Medication Administration courses completed
