Provide student mental health support with Rainy River District School Board across various locations. Deliver counselling, crisis response, and wellness services.

The Student Counsellor provides direct mental health and wellness services to K-12 students within the Board’s tiered support framework. Working under the Mental Health Services Manager, this permanent position delivers timely, student-centered support. Services include individual and group interventions, mental health promotion, attendance support, and suspension support.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide short-term mental health interventions for K-12 students
- Deliver individual and group counselling using evidence-based approaches
- Assess needs and develop personalized re-engagement plans




- Respond to critical events following Board protocols
- Maintain accurate, timely, confidential documentation

Requirements:

- Minimum one year counselling or mental health support experience
- University degree in Social Work preferred
- Registered with Ontario College of Social Workers or Social Service Workers
- Experience with children and youth preferred
- Valid driver’s license and district travel ability
