Support winter road operations for the Town of Milton using equipment operation, snow removal, and safe municipal maintenance practices. This contract position requires varied shifts.

Reporting to the Supervisor, Roads, the Seasonal Maintenance Operator supports daily operational services from November 2, 2026, through March 31, 2027. The work includes road maintenance, winter operations, traffic control, equipment audits, and customer communication. A standard 40-hour week applies, with overtime as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

- Maintain and repair roads, sidewalks, curbs, bridges, and culverts
- Perform snow plowing, sanding, salting, and de-icing
- Complete hot-mix and cold-mix road maintenance activities
- Conduct debris pickup, traffic control, and road patrol
- Complete equipment audits and required work order forms

Requirements:

- Secondary school diploma or equivalent
- At least one year of relevant municipal experience
- Valid DZ licence with satisfactory driving record
- Knowledge of Ontario Health and Safety legislation
- Mechanical aptitude and solid customer service skills
