Lead economic development programs and investment outreach for the City of Guelph from City Hall in a hybrid, temporary full time appointment.

The Economic Development Officer develops initiatives supporting Guelph’s competitiveness, investment readiness, and business climate. This role works with businesses, investors, developers, government partners, and internal staff to support investment, expansion, and economic growth. Experience with program development, stakeholder relationships, and project management is required.

Key Responsibilities:

- Create and implement economic development programs and initiatives
- Identify investment and expansion leads across key industry sectors
- Respond to business information and expansion inquiries
- Advise investment clients on municipal processes and requirements




- Manage project timelines, budgets, and performance metrics

Requirements:

- Degree in business, economic development, planning, real estate, or related field
- Considerable experience in economic development or related work
- Experience evaluating economic development programs, initiatives, and strategies
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Valid Class G licence, reliable vehicle, and travel availability
