About the chance

The University of Toronto’s Temerty Faculty of Medicine is seeking a Manager, Core Research Operations for the Office of the Vice Dean, Research, Innovation & Health Science Education. The role supports the operational management, development, and administration of the faculty’s core research facilities.

Responsibilities

- Oversee daily core facility operations, resource allocation, and the use of facility space.
- Supervise technical and research operations teams.
- Develop short- and long-term strategic plans and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support funding opportunities and financial sustainability, including partnerships and service consolidation.
- Support grant lifecycles, from proposal development through post-award milestone and financial reporting.
- Oversee facility health and safety programs, including biosafety permit applications.

Qualifications





- PhD in a relevant scientific discipline, or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least five years of related research administration and operations experience at a university or hospital research institute.
- Research management experience in a basic research institute, including experience supporting core research facilities.
- Experience with financial, resource, and human resources management; research funds and infrastructure grants; and leading and supervising teams.
- Advanced proficiency with M365 and knowledge of chemical and biological research hazards.
