Support elementary learners at Dragon Lake Elementary School through small-group literacy and numeracy instruction as a temporary 0.5 FTE teacher. This assignment serves Kindergarten through Grade 7 students.

The Learning Assistance Teacher provides learning support for students with specific needs. The work includes instructional planning, curriculum access, assessment, IEP development, and collaboration with classroom teachers and qualified staff. The assignment commences immediately and continues until December 31, 2026, or earlier depending on the incumbent’s return, with possible extension.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support students in small groups for literacy and numeracy
- Provide instructional support in classrooms and alternate environments
- Develop and assess programs and IEPs collaboratively




- Maintain accurate records according to Ministry and District guidelines
- Coordinate services through school-based and working team models

Requirements:

- Hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate
- Maintain good standing with the BC Teacher Regulation Branch
- Have elementary education training specializing in Special Education
- Demonstrate recent elementary Learning Assistance teaching experience
- Understand early literacy programs and curriculum-based assessment
