This permanent, full time Senior Mainframe Storage/Tape Engineer position supports daily storage management and client-requested infrastructure changes. Responsibilities include troubleshooting JCL errors, managing SMS spools, configuring tape and DASD hardware, and administering storage software. The position also involves incident, change, and problem processes, backup creation, and disaster recovery drills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily SMS and DASD storage management activities
- Troubleshoot space issues, JCL errors, and grid failures
- Implement volume changes, storage solutions, and replication
- Monitor IBM TS7700 grids across multiple clusters
- Provide on-call support and lead disaster recovery drills
Requirements:
- Three to five years of mainframe storage and tape experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Experience managing IBM, EMC/DELL, and HP hardware
- Proficiency in storage and tape implementation or migration
- Canadian work authorization without current or future sponsorship
