Legal Counsel

PACT (Pearson Accelerator Construction Team) is a General Partnership of Alberici, Amico, Kenaidan, and Obayashi, supported by design partners Egis, Mott MacDonald, and Weston Williamson + Partners. Together, we are delivering Accelerator, a major program of Pearson LIFT (Long-term Investment in Facilities and Terminals), Toronto Pearson's infrastructure development plan. This multi-year program is designed to address immediate passenger growth demands while preparing Canada’s largest airport for the future of air travel—including critical upgrades to airfield and infrastructure, greenhouse gas reduction initiatives, modernization of Terminals 1 and 3, and the creation of a world-class passenger experience.

JOB SUMMARY

PACT has a current opening for a Legal Counsel to join its dedicated project legal team.

In this role, you will support the joint-venture constructor’s delivery of the Greater Toronto Airports Authority multi-year Accelerator program.

The ideal candidate will safeguard the constructor’s commercial interests, manage interface risks, and ensure contractual compliance,



while acting as a reliable point of contact for all members of the project team concerning legal matters.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Contract Interpretation, Negotiating and Administration

- Drafting specialized subcontracts, amendments, and settlement agreements, and providing direct assistance to the project procurement team
- Becoming familiar with and advising on the prime project agreement
- Providing advice regarding the Ontario Construction Act
- Conducting legal research and drafting briefings and reports
- Assisting with interface issues that may arise with and between subcontractors

Claims and Dispute Management

- Drafting and reviewing contractual correspondence in collaboration with the commercial, construction, and contract management teams
- Assist with assessing entitlement to change orders and delay claims
- Assist with reviewing delay notices and change requests under the prime agreement
- Supporting the management of subcontractor claims, litigation, and other dispute resolution proceedings
