Job Summary

Reporting to the Community Recreation Coordinator and Program Director – Camps, the Program Supervisor - Camps is accountable for supervision and administration of the assigned camp.

Job Duties

- Accountable for the supervision and administration of the assigned camp.
- Oversees the planning, organization and leadership of all camp activities.
- Assists in the overall evaluation of camps and makes program recommendations.
- Responsible for all administrative tasks necessary to support the assigned camp, including, but not limited to; attendance, payroll, staff and program evaluations, mileage, program lists, budget tracking, incident reports, logs.
- Oversees the implementation of off-site trips (including swimming, skating); ensuring the proper organization of such activities and monitors such events for safety.
- Provides leadership to a team of 4-7 camp counsellors and volunteers and ensures that programs run smoothly during their shift.
- Actively involved in the planning, organization, and implementation of staff training.
- Evaluates staff performance in accordance with Town policies and procedures.

Qualifications/Skills

- Minimum Grade 11 education completed, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Minimum 2 years' camp program experience in the recreation field and/or leadership skills and staff supervision experience or a combination of training, education and experience deemed equivalent.
- Knowledge and experience related to the delivery of recreational programs and camps.
- Excellent organization, time management and planning skills.
- Self-motivated, positive,



confident and approachable.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Current Standard First Aid with CPR C certification (If hired, must be obtained by March 2, 2027).
- HIGH FIVE - Principles of Healthy Child Development certification (If hired, must be obtained by March 2, 2027).
- Willingness to obtain Behaviour Management Systems certification.
- Able to provide a clear Criminal Reference Check (with Vulnerable Sector screening) that is current (completed in the last 6 months), upon being hired.
- Must be available to work the full week of March Break (March 15 - 19, 2027) including mandatory training dates (Orientation, BMST, March Break Training).
- Nice to Have Post-secondary education in Recreation or Outdoor Education is an asset.
- Valid class 'G2' Ontario driver's licence with a explicit driver's abstract and access to daily use of a personal vehicle is an asset.

What is Offered to Staff

Rate of Pay: $21.49 - $23.36 *Please note: advertised pay rates are effective January 1, 2027.

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday – 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Staff may be asked to work additional hours at before and after care: 7:15 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.
