Provide surgical nursing care at Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington as a regular part time Registered Practical Nurse. Work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and extended tours.

This Registered Practical Nurse supports General Surgery in department 5S200. The 0.4 FTE position requires acute care surgical experience, patient teaching, and effective communication. You will contribute to interdisciplinary care, discharge planning, and patient safety while demonstrating nursing skills for complex surgical needs.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide nursing care in General Surgery
- Teach patients and families about care
- Support discharge planning using community resources
- Perform complex wound care and suture removal
- Manage vascular access, stomas, drains, and nutrition

Requirements:

- Current Ontario Registered Practical Nurse registration
- Current BCLS certification, Level C
- Recent acute care surgical nursing experience
- Demonstrated communication and interdisciplinary teamwork
- Knowledge of blood administration and acute pain management
