About the Role

Our client, a reputable architectural studio known for its sophisticated and contemporary residential designs, is seeking a talented Architectural Designer with a strong focus on residential projects to join their team in Kimberley, Northern Cape. This role involves contributing to the design development, documentation, and execution of high-quality custom homes and residential developments.

The Architectural Designer will work closely with senior architects and project managers, translating client needs and design concepts into detailed plans and specifications. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, a passion for residential architecture, and proficiency in relevant design software.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist in the development of architectural designs for residential projects, from concept through to detailed construction drawings.
- Prepare design presentations, including sketches, 3D models, and renderings for client review.
- Develop detailed architectural drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and detail drawings.
- Coordinate with consultants (structural, electrical, mechanical engineers) to integrate their designs into the overall architectural plans.
- Assist in the preparation of specifications and contract documents.
- Conduct site visits to observe construction progress and ensure compliance with design intent.




- Research and recommend materials and finishes for residential projects.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant building codes and zoning regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with senior architects and project teams.
- Contribute to the overall aesthetic and functional quality of residential designs.

Requirements

- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related design field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in architectural design, with a primary focus on residential projects.
- Proficiency in architectural CAD and BIM software, including AutoCAD and Revit.
- Solid skills in 3D modeling and rendering (e.g., SketchUp, V-Ray, Lumion).
- A portfolio demonstrating strong design sensibility and a keen eye for detail in residential architecture.
- Understanding of residential building codes and construction methods.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and visualization skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid team environment.
- Passion for residential design and creating beautiful, functional living spaces.
