Lead chemical process scale-up from laboratory research to commercial production in a hybrid Principal Process Engineer role based in Kimberley, Northern Cape.
Our client, a specialty chemical manufacturing leader, seeks an accomplished senior engineer with extensive process development and scale-up experience. You will bridge research and production through pilot plant design, process simulation, risk assessment, and commercial implementation. The role also includes mentoring junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities: Lead scale-up activities for recent chemical products and technologies
Design, commission, and operate pilot plant facilities
Develop PFDs, P&IDs;, and commercial equipment specifications
Conduct risk assessments and HAZOP studies




Troubleshoot technical challenges during scale-up and plant operation
Requirements: M. Sc. or Ph. D. in Chemical Engineering
Minimum 10 years’ process development and scale-up experience
Proven pilot plant design and operating experience
Expertise in process simulation and modeling software
Understanding of kinetics, thermodynamics, and transport phenomena
Apply principal-level chemical engineering expertise to scale-up, pilot operations, process safety, and commercial plant implementation.
