Commission high-voltage equipment with Rising Edge Group using field testing, protection systems, and electrical troubleshooting expertise. Work locally in Alberta or travel regionally.
As a Senior Commissioning Technologist, you will test and maintain primary and secondary power equipment in the field. The work covers substations, relays, transformers, control circuits, and SCADA systems. You will interpret drawings, analyze results, recommend corrective actions, and mentor junior technologists.
Key Responsibilities: Commission high-voltage breakers, transformers, switches, and capacitor banks
Test protection relays from SEL, GE, Siemens, and ABB
Maintain equipment ranging from 600 V through 500k V




Interpret schematics and recommend corrective actions from test results
Supervise, mentor, and train junior technicians
Requirements: Electrical Engineering Technology diploma or Electrical Engineering degree
Minimum four years of field testing and commissioning experience
Hands-on substation experience from 600 V to 500k V
Valid Class 5 driver's license
Willingness to travel, work outdoors, and follow rotations
