Use frontier AI models for vulnerability discovery and offensive security at Coinbase, working remotely with quarterly in-person surges. As an Offensive Security Engineer on Coinbase’s Application Security team, you will develop AI-driven security tooling and red team internal AI systems. The work combines penetration testing, vulnerability research, and security workflow automation. You will collaborate with Vulnerability Management, Offensive Security, and Incident Response teams to protect products and customers.

Key Responsibilities
- Build custom scanners using frontier models to detect vulnerabilities at scale
- Lead jailbreak, prompt injection, and tool abuse testing
- Automate vulnerability triage, validation, and remediation workflows
- Partner with engineers to prioritize and verify critical fixes




- Mentor junior security engineers integrating AI into workflows

Requirements:
- Three-plus years in application security, penetration testing, or offensive security
- Experience building custom security tooling and production-grade scanners
- Hands-on LLM or frontier model security automation experience
- Experience red teaming AI systems and exploiting common vulnerabilities
- Python, Go, or similar programming proficiency Bring application security, AI red teaming, and production tooling expertise to Coinbase’s next generation offensive security work.
