We're an early-stage startup building a platform that connects families with local activity providers, and we're growing our product team. The RoleWe're looking for a junior developer to work across our front end and back end. You'll ship real features that parents and providers use every day, working closely with the founder and our development team. This is a part-time, remote role with flexible hours.
What You'll Do
• Build and improve features across the web app and backend services
• Fix bugs, write tests, and help keep the platform stable
• Work with APIs, databases, and search
• Use AI-assisted development tools to work faster and smarter
• Take part in sprint planning and reviews Our Tech (Broadly)
• A modern JavaScript/TypeScript web front end
• A Java-based backend with REST APIs
• PostgreSQL and a search engine
• Cloud hosting on AWS, with Git-based workflows and CI/CD What We're Looking For
• 0–2 years of experience, or a strong portfolio from school, a bootcamp, or personal projects
• Familiarity with JavaScript/TypeScript and at least one backend language (Java is a plus)
• A basic understanding of databases and APIs
• Comfort with Git
• Curiosity, initiative, and a habit of asking positive questions
• Clear written communication, since we're remote Nice to Have
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS)
• Exposure to search, marketplaces, or booking systems
