Waterloo

Waterloo, ON (field role) · Ontario & Great Lakes territory · Base $[90,000–140,000] + uncapped bonus+ Company vehicle

The opportunity

If you've sold automation cells or robotic integration projects and wished your company could also design, machine, and inspect in-house, this role is for you.

At Innostrat, you'll sell automation and robotics solutions backed by our engineering team, CNC machine shop, and CMM inspection lab. You'll report directly to senior leadership, own your territory from day one, and help shape how we grow.

About Innostrat

Innostrat started in Waterloo in 1975 with a lathe, a mill and a drill press, building gauges and fixtures for automotive suppliers. Today we design and build automation, robotic inspection systems, smart gauges and precision machined parts for customers across a range of industries. We’re also developing our own products, including Ultrasonic based NDT & AI-enabled gauges that help manufacturers catch defects before they ship.

What sets us apart is our ability to understand our customers' shop floor challenges and develop innovative solutions, bringing together our own offerings and those of partners. Our in-house capabilities make that possible:

- Industrial automation and robotics: custom automation systems, robotic work cells, assembly systems, and special-purpose machinery, designed and built to solve specific production problems.
- Inspection and metrology: custom inspection gauges, CMM fixtures, inspection equipment, and CMM inspection services, so customers can verify quality on the line.
- CNC machining: multi-axis precision machining, from prototypes to production programs, for customers who need tight tolerances and dependable delivery.
- Engineering and product development: R&D;, CAD/CAM engineering, and new industrial technology products that we develop and bring to market.

For you, that means one conversation with a customer can open several doors, and you'll always have engineers and a shop floor behind your proposals.

What you'll do

Your focus is winning new automation and robotics projects.

As you build relationships, you'll also bring in inspection, machining, and product opportunities from the same customers.

- Find and win recent manufacturing customers as we expand across Canada and the U.S.
- Meet with plant managers, manufacturing engineers, and operations leaders to understand their production challenges
- Work with our engineers to turn those challenges into proposals, quotes and winning solutions
- Manage your opportunities from first conversation through signed contract

- A track record of personally closing engineered projects of $250,000 to million dollars plus, such as automation systems, robotic cells or custom machinery, and multi-million-dollar annual sales
- Comfort on a plant floor and the ability to talk credibly with both engineers and executives
- A hunter mindset: you build new business rather than relying on existing accounts
- A valid driver's license and passport, and the ability to travel regularly to the U.S.

Nice to have

- A degree, diploma, or hands-on background in mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, manufacturing or automation engineering
- An existing network in Ontario, Quebec, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana or USA manufacturing
- Experience selling inspection equipment, machining services or new technology products
- Experience with a CRM to manage prospects, track sales activity, and keep your pipeline up to date
