Position Description

This position reports to the Kitchener Branch Manager and takes direction from the Supervisors. This position is for an EDM-A licensed mechanic with significant knowledge as to various elevator systems and a strong understanding of the B-44 code.

Responsibilities

- Represent Delta Elevator’s core values of Integrity, Service and Quality in relationships with both internal staff members and external customers and suppliers.
- Follow Delta Elevator policies and procedures, Employee Handbook, and Health & Safety Manual guidelines.Complete Cat 1 & 5 testing as well as addressing TSSA deficiencies.
- Attend bi-weekly Field Operations meetings.
- Attend company sponsored night school sessions.
- Lead and perform the installation of new construction and modernization of existing elevators.
- Installation and modernization work includes various modernization and construction type work for partial or small type projects ie: controllers, machines, pumping units, Hydraulic Jacks, door ops, cross cancelation panels, panel fixturing and cab replacements, read schematics, separate old controllers, and adjust new systems etc.




- Perform service / repair work for existing installations.
- Unload deliveries, move equipment, and re-assemble machines.
- Assemble and install recent or repaired various elevator parts.
- Run conduit, hoistway trough, and travelling cables and terminations.
- Test mechanical / electrical equipment using multi-meters. Perform Cat 1 & 5 Testing.
- Move test weights, weigh cabs, and perform TSSA required testing for initial inspections.
- Paint hoistway and clean up construction sites.
- Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:

- Valid driver’s license.
- Participate in the on-call schedule and help assist training of EDM-Ts.

Qualifications & Skills

- Post-secondary education or experience in electrical / electronics.
- Current EDM-A (Valid with TSSA) license.
- Knowledge of the A17 B44, B355 and B311 codes.
- Excellent Safety record.
- Ability to complete heavy lifting.
- Ability to work both in groups and independently.
- Self-motivation.
- Ability to work at heights.
- Ability to multi task and to respond to emergencies

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $60.00-$67.00 per hour
