Job Overview

United Auto Repair Inc. is seeking an experienced and highly organized Automotive Parts Advisor to join our growing team. We operate a busy automotive repair facility with a large team of technicians and a high volume of daily repairs.

The ideal candidate will have strong automotive parts knowledge, excellent sourcing skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Identify, source, and order automotive parts for various makes and models.
- Use VINs, OEM catalogs, and aftermarket systems to ensure correct parts fitment.
- Obtain competitive pricing from suppliers and negotiate discounts.
- Coordinate with technicians and service advisors to ensure timely parts delivery.
- Manage parts inventory, stock levels, and daily parts requirements.
- Process parts returns, warranty claims, and supplier credits.
- Track backorders and follow up on delayed deliveries.
- Verify parts compatibility, interchangeability, and availability.
- Maintain accurate purchase orders, invoices, and parts records.
- Organize and maintain the parts department.
- Minimize vehicle downtime by ensuring parts arrive on time.
- Work closely with management to control parts costs and improve efficiency.

Qualifications

- Minimum 1 years of automotive parts experience preferred.
- Solid knowledge of automotive mechanical components.




- Experience using OEM and aftermarket parts catalogs.
- Ability to identify correct parts using VINs and part numbers.
- Strong computer and communication skills.
- Excellent multitasking and organizational abilities.
- Experience with Shopmonkey or similar software is an asset.
- Ability to work under pressure in a busy repair facility.
- Previous experience with automotive dealerships, repair shops, or parts suppliers is preferred.
