Carpenter Helper / Shop Assistant

Overview

We are looking for a reliable Carpenter Helper / Shop Assistant to support our cabinet shop. Work includes preparing materials, assembling cabinets, assisting with installations, and keeping the shop clean and organized. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys practical work and is willing to learn.

Duties

- Assist with cabinet assembly, preparation, and installation.
- Measure, cut, sand, and assemble materials as directed.
- Help with general carpentry and renovation tasks.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely.
- Load, unload, and move cabinets, materials, and supplies.
- Clean the shop, tools, equipment, and work areas regularly.
- Organize tools, hardware, materials, and supplies.
- Remove waste and keep walkways and work surfaces transparent.




- Follow instructions and shop and job-site safety procedures.

Required Skills

- Basic familiarity with hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to follow instructions and work well with others.
- Ability to lift and carry cabinets and materials safely.
- Reliability, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
- Commitment to keeping a clean, organized workspace.

Preferred Experience

Experience with cabinet assembly, woodworking, cabinet installation, or general carpentry is an asset, but not required.

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
