Job Responsibility:

George Gordon First Nation is currently seeking applications for a Health Director. The Health Director is responsible for directing and overseeing the daily operations, developments, management and administration of all Health and Wellness programs, projects and initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Degree in Health Sciences and/or equivalent education and experience may be considered. · Understanding and adhere to General Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP) funding contributions and funding agreements. · A minimum of 5 years of direct work experience in a program manager role, with proven conflict resolution, crisis intervention and team building experience. · Knowledge of Federal and Provincial legislation and regulations, including but not limited to Health Canada and First Nation Inuit Health Branch. · Understanding George Gordon First Nation cultural beliefs and customs. · Possess a Valid Class 5 Drivers Licence. · Acceptable Police Enhancement Check (CPIC). · Robust computer skills, including Microsoft office. · Experience in Human Resources and Financial Administration management.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILTIES

· Promote George Gordon First Nation health vision, mission, and beliefs. · Oversee the development, implementation and reporting for the George Gordon Frist Nation 5-year Health and Administration plan. · Work closely with the Accreditation Coordinator to ensure success.



· Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Health Centre. · Responsible for financial management, reporting requirements, planning and control of health expenditures. · Participate in setting staffing requirements and ensuring that program work plans are developed and implemented. · Schedule, attend and present at the George Gordon Health Committee meetings. · Negotiate contract and service level agreements for third party suppliers and/or service providers.

SALARY

· Based on work experience, training and education.
