Introduction - First Nation Land Governance Registry (FNLGR)

The First Nation Land Governance Registry (FNLGR) is a transformative initiative being developed by the Lands Advisory Board (LAB) and the Resource Centre (RC) under the direction of Framework Agreement signatory First Nations. The FNLGR will be governed by, and accountable to, Framework Agreement and Self-governing First Nations, and is being established in alignment with the Vision and Goals outlined in the FNLGR Proposal of November .

In collaboration with the Land Title and Survey Authority (LTSA), the LAB and RC continue to work with Canada to secure federal approval and funding for the FNLGR, and to authorize any necessary amendments to the Framework Agreement and related federal legislation.

Engagement with Framework Agreement and Self-governing First Nations, along with other First Nation organizations and key stakeholders, remains central to the development and refinement of the FNLGR. A progress report will be delivered to Framework Agreement First Nations by March 31.
