Role Description:

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of the Accounting Department, while supporting the Director of Finance by analyzing and reporting financial information.

Responsibilities:

Managing the Full accounting cycle according to Canadian GAAP within the timelines established by the ECI Corporate Head Office, in particular:

- Perform month-end and year-end close
- Produce monthly Financial Statements
- Balancing of GL with sub ledger
- Investigate discrepancies in GL accounts
- Clearing intercompany transactions
- Bank Reconciliation
- Review credit card reconciliations
- Review GST/QST remittances
- Coordinate and assist with annual and spot audits
- Investigate invoicing issues and collaborate with other departments to resolve them
- Review weekly reconciliation of accounts receivable balances
- Review Commission Reports & Fixed Asset schedule Maintenance




- Develop and implementation of new procedures to enhance the workflow of the department
- Other tasks, as assigned

Qualifications:

- 8+ years' experience in Full-Cycle Canadian Accounting (preference for someone who has experience with SMBs)
- Advanced knowledge of Excel (e.g.: Pivot tables & Vlookups are a must)
- Bilingual, English and French (a must)
- Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment (a must)
- Experience with accounting systems, MRP and ERP systems (a must)
- Excellent organizational and time management skills (a must)
- Analytical & detail oriented (a must)
- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision (preferred)
- Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field (asset)
- Knowledge of US GAAP (asset)
- Experience with Infor VISUAL (asset)
