Senior Financial Analyst, Commercial Finance (Confidential Client)

Envy Consulting has been engaged by a global consumer products company to hire a Senior Financial Analyst for its Canadian head office. The company’s brands are household names sold through every major retailer in the country, and its Canadian finance team is adding this role to go deeper on commercial performance. This role was created so someone could spend their time on the question that matters to the business: which products, customers and channels make money, which don’t, and what to do about it. You will report to a newly promoted Commercial Finance Manager and work day to day with the heads of Sales, Marketing and Channel Marketing.

Profitability analysis at the product and category level: revenue, gross margin and EBIT

The financial case behind commercial decisions: promotions, listings, inventory and distribution trade-offs

Presenting findings to senior leadership and turning analysis into decisions people act on





Support for the forecast and planning cycle as it relates to the commercial business

An experienced Financial Analyst ready for a senior title, or an established SFA who wants more commercial exposure. 3 or more years in finance, ideally at a consumer products, CPG or retail-facing company

- Experience supporting a sales or marketing team, or in pricing, profitability or sales finance
- CPA or CPA in progress is an asset, not a requirement. Robust Excel and modelling skills; SAP or Hyperion experience helps
- Curious about products, customers, retail pricing and competitors, and willing to walk over to Marketing rather than wait for an email

Annual bonus with a 20% target
