REgroup, part of the Municipal Group of Companies, is responsible for operating and managing the only permitted non-recyclable waste processing and landfill site within the Halifax Regional Municipality: the Otter Lake Waste Management Facility. We are currently seeking the qualifications and expertise of Class 1 Drivers based out of our Halifax location, servicing both Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. This position is five days a week (Day Shift).Job SummaryClass 1 Drivers are responsible for the safe and effective operation of a Tractor Trailer to transport materials as per schedule. This position is also responsible for inspecting, cleaning, and maintaining the equipment.Primary Duties And ResponsibilitiesDrive tractor-trailer combination in a safe and efficient manner to designated locationsHauling recyclables with a compactor trailerSecure chain or binders to secure load on trailer during transitLoad and unload materials, tools, and equipment under varying traffic and road conditionsAdvise the supervisor of any requirements for maintenance or repairsReport any driving infractions and/or suspensionsBe aware of surroundings at all timesLimited physical work required - i.E.
